This page serves as an explaination of our terms of sale and guiding principles. By expressing interest in our goats and subsequently signing a contract and/or paying a deposit, you acknowledge that you’ve read and understood the terms outlined here, and you agree to proceed with the purchase under these conditions

1. Reservation and Deposits

  • Our kidding reservation list is free. You will be notified once the doe has kidded and we've assessed the kids if your rservation is able to be filled.
  • No deposit is required for our pet/wether wait list or adult doe wait list.
  • Performance homes take priority over other reservations.
  • Deposits, including partial payments, are refundable only if the seller fails to provide the animal. Buyers will not be refunded if the buyer cancels the agreement without the seller's consent, fails to make the final payment as agreed, payment fails to clear the seller's bank or PayPal/Venmo, or if the buyer fails to pickup by the agreed date unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

2. Reservation Priority & Retention of Kids

  • We reserve the right to retain any kid resulting from our breedings before fulfilling external reservations.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any sale at any time for any reason.

3. Breeding Pairs & Backup Breeding

  • Breeding pairs may change. Updates will be made as does are confirmed bred.
  • You may request a backup breeding, which will be added to our free waitlist.
  • If the reservation list for a specific breeding is full, you may request to be added to the free waitlist for the next available kid. Once a kid becomes available, a deposit will be required within 48 hours, and full payment will be due at pickup or time of transport.

4. Purchasing a Mature Animal

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total sale price is required to hold a mature animal for up to 2 weeks, or another agreed-upon time, until pickup.

5. Final Payment

  • Full payment is due at pickup or date of transport if your reservation is fulfilled.
  • If full payment is not received, the deposit will be forfeited, and the animal will be sold to the next buyer on the waitlist.
  • We will not hold or mark a goat as "sale pending" until we have received a non-refundable deposit.
  • Payments are accepted via Zelle, Venmo or cash payment if meeting in person. We do accept Paypal but it is not our preffered platform. For PayPal/Venmo transactions, an additional 4% fee will be applied unless using the "friends/family" option to avoid this charge.
  • We do NOT accept checks or card payments

6. Forfeiting Reservation

  • If you decide not to purchase the reserved kid or cannot arrange timely transportation, the deposit will be forfeited, and the animal will be sold to the next buyer on the waitlist.

7. Shipping & Transportation

  • Shipping and transportation are at the buyer’s expense. Please consider transportation needs before placing a deposit or purchasing an animal.
  • Kids typically leave our farm between 4-8 weeks of age. Have transportation plans in place by then unless alternate arrangements are made and approved.
  • We reserve the right to not work with specific transport companies. We have a list of reliable transporters we've worked with and would be happy to provide their information if needed.

8. Health Certificates & Testing

  • Health certificates and any required testing for shipping are at the buyer’s expense. We will coordinate vet appointments and forward the paid invoices for reimbursement. Payment for the invoice must be made prior to the animal leaving our property.

9. Registration

  • All of our goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).
  • We will register all doe and buck kids at our expense and provide a certificate of registry at the time of pickup or shipping. If registration forms are not available at that time, the forms will be mailed to you. We prefer to register and transfer online, so please provide us with your ADGA member number at pickup so we can quickly get your paperwork to you.
  • Pets/wethers are not registered.
  • The buyer is responsible for any additional registry fees for other registries, if applicable.

10. Disbudding

  • All goat kids will be dis-budded before being sold.

11. Right of First Refusal

  • When purchasing from Salt River Run, you agree that we have the right of first refusal at the original or fair price should you decide to sell the animal at a later time.

12. Boarding

  • Once a buyer agrees to purchase a goat, a pickup date will be set. If the goat isn’t picked up by the agreed date, a $5 per day boarding fee will apply, increasing to $10 after two weeks. If not picked up within this time, all payments will be forfeited, and the goat may be sold to another buyer.

13. Companion Animals

  • Goats are herd animals and should not be kept alone. We will not sell goats to homes without other goats unless more than one animal is purchased. We do offer discounts if you choose to buy multiples.

14. Biosecurity & Returns

  • Due to biosecurity concerns, once an animal has left our property, it cannot be returned.

15. Health & Quality

  • While we only sell healthy animals, we do not guarantee their future health, growth, production, or quality. Our animals come from excellent breeding lines and have been cared for to the highest standards, but once they leave our farm, we are not responsible for their future health.
  • If a possible genetic issue (ie. extra teats, sterility, or wry face) is found, a replacement kid will be offered from the current or next breeding season. No monetary refunds will be given, but a replacement will be provided with medical proof from a veterinarian. The original registration papers must be returned to receive a replacement.

We do not guarantee the animal’s height, so no replacement will be offered if the animal exceeds the height limit.

16. Use of Pictures

  • You are welcome to use any of our pictures from the Salt River Run website to promote an animal from our herd or their family, provided you include an attribution such as "Picture Credit: Salt River Run".
